RETURNS, REFUNDS & WARRANTY POLICY
Closet Cure™ Effective Date: 19 February 2026
This Returns, Refunds and Warranty Policy ("Policy") applies to all purchases of the Closet Cure™ products ("Product") from Closet Cure™ ("we", "us", "our") within the Republic of South Africa.
This Policy is drafted in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and, where applicable, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under applicable South African law.
1. Your Statutory Rights Under the CPA In terms of section 55 and 56 of the CPA: All goods sold to consumers carry an automatic six (6) month implied warranty of quality from the date of delivery. If the Product:
- is defective,
- is unsafe,
- is not durable for a reasonable period,
- or does not comply with the description, sample or representation made by Closet Cure™,
you may return the Product within six (6) months of delivery and elect one of the following remedies:
- Repair of the Product;
- Replacement of the Product; or
- Refund of the purchase price paid.
Closet Cure™ may inspect and test the Product to confirm the defect before processing the chosen remedy.
2. Repeat Failure After Repair If the Product is repaired and the same defect recurs within three (3) months of the repair, you are entitled to:
- Replacement of the Product; or
- A full refund.
3. What Is Not Considered a Defect The following are not regarded as defects under the CPA and are therefore not covered under the six-month implied warranty:
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, or improper handling
- Damage caused by liquid exposure or unauthorised modification
- Damage caused by unauthorised repairs
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality
- Damage resulting from failure to follow product instructions
Closet Cure™ reserves the right to reject claims where inspection shows the Product was not used in accordance with its intended purpose.
4. Change-of-Mind Returns (Voluntary Policy) In addition to your statutory rights, Closet Cure™ offers a 7-day change-of-mind return policy from date of delivery, subject to the following conditions:
- The Product must be unused and in original condition.
- All original packaging, accessories, inserts and documentation must be included.
- Proof of purchase is required.
- The Product must not show signs of installation, wear, or damage.
Change-of-mind returns may be subject to:
- A reasonable handling or restocking fee (if applicable), and/or
- The customer covering return courier costs.
Closet Cure™ reserves the right to refuse change-of-mind returns that do not meet these conditions. This voluntary policy does not limit statutory CPA rights.
5. Online & Direct Marketing Purchases Where the Product was purchased via:
- Online store (electronic transaction), or
- Direct marketing,
cancellation rights may apply under ECTA or the CPA. Where legally applicable, customers may cancel qualifying transactions within the prescribed statutory cooling-off period. If cancellation is validly exercised:
- The Product must be returned in original condition.
- Closet Cure™ may deduct direct return shipping costs where permitted by law.
6. Returns Process To initiate a return, customers must:
- Email: support@closetcure.co.za
-
Provide:
- Full name
- Order number
- Date of purchase
- Description of issue
- Photographs or video evidence of the defect
Returns may not be sent without written return authorisation from Closet Cure™. If the return qualifies under the CPA (defect within 6 months), Closet Cure™ will cover reasonable return shipping costs. Risk in returned goods remains with the customer until the Product is received by Closet Cure™, except where CPA statutory returns apply.
7. Refunds If a refund is approved:
- Refunds will be processed to the original method of payment.
- Refund processing may take up to 14 business days after inspection and approval.
- Bank processing times may vary.
Closet Cure™ is not responsible for delays caused by financial institutions.
8. Exchanges Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If replacement stock is unavailable, Closet Cure™ may provide:
- A comparable replacement; or
- A refund.
9. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Closet Cure™ shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Liability is limited to the purchase price paid for the Product.
Nothing in this clause excludes liability where such exclusion is unlawful under the CPA.
10. Proof of Purchase A valid proof of purchase is required for all returns and warranty claims.
11. Consumer Complaints If a complaint cannot be resolved directly with Closet Cure™, consumers may refer the matter to:
- The National Consumer Commission (NCC), or
- The Consumer Tribunal, or
- An accredited Consumer Court (where applicable).
